All Kinds of Sewing Machine Bobbins for All Kinds of Sewing Machines

Sewing Machine Bobbins

Are you looking for sewing machine bobbins for your favorite sewing, industrial, or embroidery machine?  If you have one of the more popular sewing machine brands like, Brother, Singer, Viking, Pfaff, Janome, Bernina, Kenmore, White, or Kenmore you should be able to find universal sewing machine bobbins easily, which is another reason you should think about sticking with more popular sewing machine brands.

One of the easiest place to look for bobbins is at Amazon.  You will find the prices are typically much cheaper than your local sewing center.  Amazon has a really nice selection of bobbins and if you order the wrong bobbin you will be able to return the purchase which isn’t possible with some online retailers such as ebay.

If you do happen to have an off brand machine you may have some luck searching ebay for the machine bobbin you are searching for.  You may have to make more than a few purchases before you find something which works with your bobbin case.  Amazon not only has bobbins, they also have a fabulous selection of bobbin thread, hard to find presser feet, industrial machine accessories, handheld sewing machines, replacement bobbin case, sewing tables, quilting frames plus much more!

Buying pre threaded embroidery bobbins is a wonderful time saver – no more winding the bobbin - especially if you are doing machine quilting and going through a lot of bobbins.  You can purchase the bobbins with either cotton thread, which is perfect for quilting quilt tops and crafts or with polyester, depending on your needs.  Again, Amazon has some wonderful deals.  Here’s a sample of some prewound and universal bobbins are available:

  • Brother PWB250
  • Brother PWB250B
  • Brother SA156 bobbins which are compatible with Brother models which begin with VX, PS, XR, NX, and NV series machines
  • L style prewound bobbin
  • Plastic Style “M” clear bobbins

The best deal is probably on the NEB prewound embroidery style L bobbins, which are for embroidery.  You will get 144 bobbins in a box for less than $50!  This is a great way to build your bobbin stash!  Just think how much time you will save because you won’t have to stop to thread the bobbin.

Did you know you make some beautiful effect with bobbin work.  Something called “thread painting”, is a great way to add texture and dimension to your quilts.

When doing machine quilting many women choose to use a darning foot, which makes it easier to see where you have quilted and where you are going to quilt next.  When doing this free style quilting you don’t need a quilting frame but you should have your quilt pinned securing the front, batting and back.  For quilting long straight lines a walking foot is the way to go.  Amazon has a nice selection of walking feet and you should be able to find one there.
